THE TRIP
Last year, went to Pulau Langkawi. Pulau Langkawi or Langkawi Island (pulau means island) is located in the state of Kedah. It is a well known island to Malaysians for its beautiful beaches and islands, as well as the DUTY FREE ZONE!! It is a heaven for chocolate addict like me since the chocolate there are soooooooooooo cheap!! Chocolate, tobacco and liquor there are the main attraction but do keep in mind that there is a certain quota for tobacco and liquor that you can bring out of the island. NO QUOTA FOR CHOCOLATES! HURRAH for that! 😀
 
GETTING THERE
The easiest way to go to Pulau Langkawi is by flight. There’s plenty of direct flight from various places either within Malaysia or outside. Just look for Air Asia, Malaysia Airlines System or Fireflyz. Pulau Langkawi is also accessible via boat. Just hop onto Langkawi ferry or a boat from Telaga Harbour (from Langkawi, you can go to Koh Lipe Thailand)
THINGS TO DO
- Island Hopping: Tours for island hopping can be arrange either from a tour agency or at a hotel (depending whether they provide the service or not). Went for island hopping to Beras Basah Beach (beras means rice and basah means wet), eagle feeding and Pulau Dayang Bunting (which looks like a pregnant lady lying down). If you realize there’s a lot of people at the beach, those people would be me and my colleagues! 😀
- Go-kart: Go-karting at Morac International Karting. Adrenaline Rush!! LOVE IT!
- Cable Car Ride and Hanging Bridge: Ride the cable car to the top of Gunung Mat Chinchang and walk across the 700m high Sky Bridge for a spectacular view of the islands and Thailand.
